abstract | "In the ever-evolving landscape of energy storage, the challenge lies in enhancing battery performance, safety and reliability across diverse applications. Existing battery management systems struggle to adapt, hindering advancements in mobile and stationary use cases. With this in mind, the EU-funded BATMAX project is setting the stage for a new era in energy storage efficiency. The project will leverage physics and data through cutting-edge digital twins. Specifically, BATMAX will develop a framework integrating experimental, operational and synthetic data. Through advanced numerical methods and sensorisation, it accelerates parameter extraction, reducing model development costs. Anticipated impacts include a 10 % increase in battery lifetime, a 20 % performance boost in specific scenarios, and a substantial cut in life-cycle costs." |
